Zeeën ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal data when you use the Zeeën mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Zeeën is a real-world social discovery platform that helps people see and connect with others nearby through shared social profiles. Zeeën is not a messaging or dating platform and does not facilitate in-app communication between users.

This Privacy Policy is intended to meet the requirements of Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and describes our privacy practices for users globally.

Personal Data We Collect

We collect only the personal data that is reasonably necessary to operate Zeeën as a proximity-based social discovery service.

This may include:

  • Name or chosen display name
  • Username or profile identifier
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • At least one social media handle or profile link (required)
  • Account preferences and visibility settings
  • Date-of-birth confirmation for minimum age checks
  • Support, safety, or feedback communications

Location and Proximity Data

Zeeën uses location signals to show nearby users and places when you choose to use these features.

We may process:

  • Approximate location (for example city, suburb, or area)
  • Short-range proximity signals indicating users were near each other in a limited time window

We do not display exact user locations to other users and do not store precise GPS trails as a user feature. Location data is processed only while the app is in use and/or discoverability is enabled.

Safety and Abuse-Prevention Data

To protect users and enforce our rules, we may process:

  • Reports you submit, including category and optional details
  • Records of blocks so blocked accounts are hidden immediately
  • Enforcement outcomes such as warnings, suspensions, and bans

Automatically Collected Data

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • Device identifiers used for security and abuse prevention
  • Log data such as interactions, timestamps, and crash diagnostics
  • IP address used for security and operational integrity

Third-Party Service Providers

Zeeën uses trusted third-party providers to operate infrastructure, analytics, support, and moderation tooling. These providers may process limited data necessary to deliver their services.

These providers are contractually required to protect personal data and may only process data under Zeeën's instructions.

How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Display nearby profiles and recent proximity encounters based on your settings
  • Operate, maintain, and improve Zeeën's features and performance
  • Maintain safety, security, and abuse prevention
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

Promotional use. We may feature profile content, screenshots, and screen recordings of in-app activity in marketing, advertising, investor, press, and editorial materials promoting Zeeën. We will not sell your personal data. Full terms are set out in our Terms of Use.

We do not sell personal data and do not use personal data for behavioural advertising outside the Zeeën platform.

Legal Basis

Depending on your location, we process data based on one or more of:

  • Your consent (for example enabling location-based discovery)
  • Providing the Services you request
  • Legitimate interests in operating and protecting the platform
  • Compliance with legal obligations

Disclosure of Personal Data

Information you choose to display may be visible to nearby users based on your settings. Zeeën does not host in-app messaging. Interactions occur on third-party platforms at user choice.

We may disclose limited data to providers assisting with hosting, analytics, security, moderation, and support, and where required by law.

Cross-Border Data Transfers

Zeeën operates globally. Personal data may be processed outside Singapore and/or outside your country. Where this happens, Zeeën applies safeguards designed to maintain comparable protection, including contractual controls and restricted access.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy, unless longer retention is required or permitted by law.

Typical retention windows may include:

  • Account and profile data while your account is active
  • Encounter/proximity records for limited product windows
  • Safety reports and enforcement records for integrity and auditing
  • Security logs for limited fraud and security analysis windows

Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Zeeën account and associated personal data at any time.

You can request deletion and ask us to delete your data by:

  • submitting a support ticket through our help centre
  • emailing governance@zeeen.app and asking us to delete your account and data

Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will:

  • disable discoverability immediately
  • schedule your profile information and social links for permanent removal
  • delete your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal or security retention duties
  • retain limited technical logs temporarily only where required for security or legal reasons

Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, consent withdrawal, or deletion.

Security Safeguards

We implement safeguards designed to protect personal data, including:

  • Encryption in transit
  • Access controls and least-privilege access
  • Monitoring and logging for abuse/security signals
  • Operational controls over vendor access

No system is completely secure, and we continuously improve our controls.

Children's Privacy

Zeeën is not intended for users under 16. If you believe a child under 16 provided data, contact governance@zeeen.app.

We may update this policy from time to time and will post changes with an updated date.
